Extreme Faith 2007 ROCKED!
I just want to give a quick shout out to all of my friends from Extreme Faith Camp 2007! I had a great time coming up and performing for you tonight. I have kept you in prayer all week and hope that you are all on fire for your faith and going out to tell the world about the amazing things God is doing in your life!
Don’t forget to teach everyone the Catholic Dance. Get a group together and record it and send it in…who knows…you may win the iPod I am giving away in my Catholic Dance contest!!
I will be posting some pictures as soon as my friends Donovan and Neil hook me up! Be sure to stop back often!
Peace,
DJ Bill
…but we can’t have a youth rally without an inflatable obstacle course!!
So what is YOUR initial reaction to that statement? I am guessing it would be something like “Yes! I agree 100%!” or something more like “No way! All you need is God!” or maybe more like “What is an inflatable obstacle course?”
Whatever your reaction is this was a statement made by a member of a Diocesan Youth Council member from the Diocese of Rochester, NY who was accustomed to always having one at their junior high youth rally during the entertainment and activity time.
Now, I enjoy the inflatable stuff as much as the other guy but this rally decided to instead of place money into this type of entertainment, they would invest in something new, different and exciting! Yep. They invested in DJ Bill.
Change can be tough. Change can be difficult. However, trying something new can have AMAZING RESULTS!!
The nice thing about investing in my show was that I was able to be a part of the whole day not just the entertainment and activity time. I was able to start up the youth rally with spontaneous fun and games while people were entering the room. I even had made a rule that for the first 30 minutes no one could sit down. As people came in, they saw that everyone was standing and no one was sitting down so they stood too! Right before the MC’s took the stage I taught everyone the Catholic Dance and challenged them to share their faith by teaching it to their friends at the schools and churches. This was happening before the day was scheduled to begin.
Later that day before the official entertainment time I had everyone play a large group game that luckily no one broke any bones and everyone had a great time!
When the official time came for entertainment, no one even missed the obstacle course and enjoyed the music and fun that was provided.
After gathering again for dinner and Mass, once again I was called on to engage the group while releasing them for dinner. Slowly releasing groups for dinner while having the rest work up a healthy appetite!
At the end of the day we all celebrated Mass and left on a high note praising God for his goodness and his call to “Walk His Way!”
I don’t think anyone missed the inflatable obstacle course but I promise you they all had fun!
Youth Rally Entertainment - What exactly does DJ Bill do??
The one thing is people are a little confused as to what it is exactly what I do. So I am going to try to the best of my ability explain what I do.
1. DJ Bill Entertains - I am not your local mobile DJ. I am a complete high energy, interactive show. I use a stage, get kids involved, teach them dances, play games, give away prizes, spray them with toilet paper, etc,. It is more of a concert feel then your run of the mill dance. Normally I provide a 2 hour show that will hold everyones attention and we will make sure everyone leaves thinking that they had the best time ever.
2. DJ Bill Tells Stories - I love to share my faith and my heart with youth. I have a passion for Jesus and the Catholic church and I love telling people how I embrace being different then the norm and how it is important to not be like everyone else. When I am able to keynote, I focus a lot on how important my faith and pray life is to me. I also love sharing how the Holy Spirit can be the “spiritual lighter fluid” to set our hearts on fire!
3. DJ Bill Is Present The Whole Day - At most youth rallies I attend, I always make sure to be there and participate during the whole day. I think it is important for the youth to see this example but also to be available in case someone needs a prayer or assistance. I believe it is important to live in the moment and be a part of the whole community. Also, if you need an emergency filler up on stage…I am just a few steps away. My goal is that your event goes smoothly and that everyone not only is entertained but has an amazing time!
4. DJ Bill Warms Up The Crowd - If your event starts at 10:00am…then get me on stage at 9:30am! I think it is very important to set the right tone and have people arriving into something happening instead of an empty room with nothing going on. Energy breeds energy. Having kids up and doing something will attract people arriving and will make them want to join in.
5. DJ Bill Knows Youth Rallies - I have been involved in all different stages of planning and organizing youth rallies for over 20 years now. I am always available for advice, thoughts or any questions that people have. In fact, some of that knowledge
So….that is me in a nut shell. I hope you agree that what I offer is something that is fun, exciting, different and unique.
I look forward to chatting with you soon.

St. Michael Church in Prior Lake, MN - Christmas Party
Last night I had the opportunity to DJ for the Church of St. Michael in Prior Lake, MN. The 2 hour show was a lot of fun. After a few minutes of warm up music the crowd was ready to freak out. The people were jumping and praising the Lord with their feet. Everyone seemed to love the new blinkie glasses that I have had over the past 2 months.
All I know it was an awesome Christmas party! It was fun working with Gina and Nate and all the youth from St. Michael’s Church!
Peace,
DJ Bill
Catholic Dance drops in Sin City
Yes it is true. In order to be a light in this day and age we need to go into the heart of the beast and be a light for Christ! I was honored to have a wonderful opportunity to share the Catholic Dance in Las Vegas this past weekend for over 2000 youth ministers across the nation!
On Friday, I was a part of the artist coffeehouse and the good news is my 2 song set of the Catholic Dance and Follow the Leader resulted in NO ONE getting burned by coffee but it did have everyone up and moving and praising God with their dancing. I was happy to see Full, Conscious, Active, Participation during the 10 minute set (I went over a few minutes!! OOPS!)
On Saturday night, I was a part of the 25th Birthday Bash! I had the opportunity to work with Anna Scally from Cornerstone Media. She is a Catholic Speaker/Disc Jockey and has been doing this for many years. It was truly and honor to share the stage with her and perform for 30 minutes at the end of the program! We did the Catholic Dance (by popular demand) and also had a stage full of people dancing. It was a great set of music in celebration and we gave away a bunch of treasure baskets (which I did not win!) There was much fun and an amazing party and praise atmosphere that is still with me today.
I met a ton of people over the weekend in Las Vegas and look forward to networking and working with many Diocesan leaders for their youth rallies and entertainment. My goal is even if I am not there, the Catholic Dance will be so be sure to go to the Catholic Dance link, learn how to do it and share it with all of your family, friends and youth!
Viva Las Vegas…the Catholic Dance is alive and spreading!
